Wounded Guardians Project

A Pathway to Wholeness, Connection, and Awakening for Veterans

Going From Surviving to Whole

The Wounded Guardians Project (WGP) was created for those who’ve returned from service carrying wounds that are often overlooked by medical professionals and don’t show up on scans or in service records. These are the invisible scars: PTSD, traumatic brain injury (TBI), moral injury, and spiritual disconnection that linger long after the uniform is taken off.

For many veterans, the war doesn’t end when their deployment does. The body remains on high alert, sleep becomes elusive, and the mind replays moments that defy explanation. The soul, once anchored in purpose, can feel adrift. Isolation, grief, and a loss of identity often follow, leaving warriors feeling disconnected from others, from themselves, and from life itself.

Some carry the weight of what they saw, while others carry the weight of what they did or couldn’t do. This is moral injury: the quiet torment of having acted against one’s deepest values, or having witnessed betrayal, loss, or injustice that shattered their moral compass. It’s not weakness but the cost of caring deeply in a world that may have demanded too much.

WGP offers a way home.

Through guided retreats, time in nature, breathwork, and embodied healing practices, veterans are invited to lay down the armor and reconnect with the parts of themselves that were never lost, only buried.

In this space, veterans begin to see that what they’ve been searching for is already within them. As they reconnect with who they truly are underneath it all, they reclaim their story, their strength, and their self-worth, awakening to a deeper wholeness that was never truly lost, merely forgotten.

Veteran Integration Circles (Beginning January 4th, 2026)

The real work begins after the retreat. Our free monthly Integration Circles offer ongoing support for veterans who want to stay connected, grounded, and intentional in daily life. These circles provide a steady rhythm of community, practical tools for emotional regulation and mindfulness, and a space for honest communication and connection with others who’ve walked a similar path.

Whether you're navigating the aftershocks of trauma or simply seeking to stay aligned with your deeper self, these circles are here to remind you that you’re not alone, and the work continues with others beside you.

This call is exclusively for veterans. To receive the private Zoom link, please email wgp@inekawa.org.

Many veterans return home only to find themselves feeling disconnected from others, from purpose, and from the deeper truth of who they are.

The Wounded Guardians Project offers a clear path forward. At Inekawa, we’ve seen that when veterans are given space to turn inward, they rebuild trust in themselves, reconnect with their community, and rediscover the balance that trauma once disrupted.

As veterans begin to look within, they start to see that who they are is not defined by rank, trauma, or circumstance. Beneath all of it, there is a steady presence that has always been there. From this place, healing happens naturally. It’s not just about feeling better, but about coming back into alignment with themselves and with life. Veterans reconnect with a sense of inner stability, peace, and purpose that feels real and lasting.

The Wounded Guardians Project helps make this process possible for every veteran who is ready to reconnect with themselves and live from that deeper truth.
