Wounded Guardians Project

A Pathway to Wholeness, Connection, and Awakening for Veterans

From Surviving to Whole

The Wounded Guardians Project (WGP) was created to support those who’ve served our country and returned home still carrying unseen wounds. Many veterans live with experiences that can’t be measured by rank or medals. The body stays tense, the mind remains alert, and the heart carries what words can’t always express. Feelings of isolation, loss, and disconnection from self or others can linger long after service ends.

Beyond physical or psychological pain, many carry a deeper moral and spiritual weight. It is the burden of actions, losses, or betrayals that conflict with their core values. Often called moral injury: the quiet ache of having witnessed or taken part in things that feel out of alignment with one’s sense of right, goodness, or purpose.

Over time, that unseen weight can lead to disconnection from others, from self, and from life itself.

WGP offers a way home.

Through guided retreats, time in nature, breathwork, and embodied practices, veterans are supported in reconnecting with themselves beyond the roles they have lived and the experiences they have carried.

In this space, veterans begin to see that what they’ve been searching for is already here. They can reconnect with a grounded sense of who they are and awaken to a deeper wholeness within.

Veteran Integration Circles (Launching Spring 2026)

The process doesn’t end after the retreat. Our free monthly Integration Circles offer continued support for veterans who want to stay connected and grounded in daily life. These circles provide practical tools for emotional awareness, mindfulness, and honest connection with others who understand the path.

Many veterans struggle with feeling disconnected after returning home.

The transition back to daily life can bring tension, isolation, and a loss of purpose.

The Wounded Guardians Project provides a clear path for veterans to reconnect with themselves and their community. At Inekawa, we’ve seen that when veterans are given space to turn inward, they rebuild trust in themselves and find balance again.

WGP’s mission is to make that opportunity available to every veteran who’s ready for it.
